Ideas from Proposal Meeting with Anna & Stephen

Vicky String art - (Dark space - the string can be set up in the dark space (multi-coloured string) and lights will be used to light certain areas up), (Ask the woodwork department for X2 pieces of 8x4 wood, after setting up in the dark space  close it off with the wooden panels  There could be holes in the wood so the viewers can see through into the dark space).

Documenting:

  • When documenting we need to decide on what format we want the pictures to be at, eg. the size of the picture (so that they are all the same).
  • If we have time we could video ourselves making the artwork and passing it on, making it into a continuous video.
  • Maybe someone outside the group could take a picture of when we hand over the piece of art to the next person in the group.
  • Could link our art work & research on the 'Chapman Brothers' or any other historical time/artist (use a part of the exhibition space to display it).
  • When the work is passed to the next person, just write a reflection of the other persons work and what your going to do when it is given to you so they can see what you have added.
  • Maybe set up an infinity curve and once a week after each artwork is done we can photograph it professionally.

Rules:

  • We need to set a few rules eg. make a contract saying what we want to happen to our work when passed on (maybe if its a painting you could say they you don't want a certain area to be touched etc. so maybe you could put a bit of tape over those areas so when you peal it off nothing will be ruined).
  • Could have just a 2 hr window for making the artwork so we don't end up thinking about it too much (also we could have 2 solid days for focusing on this project and get all the artwork over and done with).
  • Make sure that there are some set ground rules so that all work is given and swapped around in time.

Exhibition:

  • Maybe where we exhibit our work, around it we could place pictures of the production/process of making it. All needs to be a certain size.
  • INTERESTING - We could have like a rack and put all of our artwork in and display the documentation instead (opposite to an archive).
  • Because we are documenting it via blog we could place a laptop on a table with the browser open.

Audience participation:

  • We could have a whiteboard and people can draw what they feel like when they have experienced the exhibition (after one has drew something, someone else can rub it off and draw on top (if people rub bits off, it needs to be well photographed each time before it is rubbed off)).
